Storyline :
Being Mary Jane is an American drama television series created by Mara Brock Akil and starring Gabrielle Union, scheduled to debut in January 2014 on BET. The pilot for the series aired on July 2, 2013.
The pilot episode received positive reviews from critics, and the series premiere on BET, had more than 4 million viewers. On September 12, 2013, BET renewed Being Mary Jane for a second season, before the first season premiered.
